Again, need more detail with the undersurface. This has the look of an Amanita, though can't be definite. Hey you're seeing some great fungi. I'm green with envy!!
Thank you. I was just lucky, I think, and once I started looking down, instead of up (for birds), I found a whole new array of life. I just wish I'd known how to take photos that would help the fungi be identified. I will for next time!
The key to identification of this species is that spotted/mottled cap. Being an Amanita it is a mycorrhizal fungus thus benefitting the plant (most probably tree) species it is associated with. This appears to be the first recording of this species in the Budawang Coast Nature Map region. Well done.
