The large larvae and the pupae are a hawk moth, possibly Hippotion scrofa which is recorded as feeding on Ipomoea. The smaller, white, curled larvae are beetles of the family Scarabaeidae.
Thanks very much. I’ve heard that the curl grubs aren’t good in a vege patch so I fed them to the chooks. The hawk Moth pupae got replanted in the bed. Hoping that was for the best.
