There has been some discussion about this sighting for a number of days, which gives me some confidence in identifying it as Darwinia grandiflora, despite only limited experience with the genus in general. As such it appears to extend the range of this ROTAP 2RCi species further south. Any comments before we confirm? This would be a significant sighting.
Thanks for that Nicholas. Took pic as hadnt seen this plant before despite many days in bush. Did not notice further examples of this plant though that was only in immediate vicinity. Will look more when passing by next time.
Well that's strange. Another person contacted me over this species in the vicinity of that location. I just assumed we were discussing the same sighting. A very respected, though now non active plant moderator, had suggested D. grandiflora before I was involved.
Yes love your beetle shots! I won't add this new species till another plant moderator comments or confirms. Very coincidental - may be more than one plant at this location anyhow?
