User's notes

A small dead bat about 6-7 cm across lying on the grass in the garden. There was a piece of straw in its' mouth.

The large ears indicate Long-eared Bat, probably Lesser, but that and the most similar other species are hard to tell apart. The Lesser Long-eared Bat is very common locally and often enters houses, roosts in old coats hanging up on the verandah and so on.
