This is a distinctive species of Pyronema which is different from the usually recorded Pyronema omphalodes. Much more golden, seems to only occur above ground and the confluent mass is much more nodular than P. omphalodes. Also first record of this genus after the 2019-2020 fires

Pam, these are some more photos of that fungus which is growing in a recently burnt area showing different stages. It ends up getting very powdery. Sorry for delay in getting them to you.

No worries about the delay. Many thanks for those very useful images. I've listed it as Pyronema sp. A. which appears to be a very golden and robust species of this genus. I've also put P. sp. B up, a creamy species. Even though sp A goes cream at maturity it is still much more robust than sp. B which I've not seen as golden as sp. A.
There is very little information on this genus. Then coupled with being unable to look at the spores of your species I'm making a call on this and hoping more records will come in that will help add to our knowledge. Thank you again for this great sighting and your very useful images.
