User's notes

The intriguing thing about this sighting was that the Butcherbird was doing mimicry of a range of other bird calls. At first I thought I was approaching a hidden lyrebird but then realised it was the Butcherbird. I watched the bird do the calls. Mimicry by this species is mentioned in field guides so is a known behaviour but it was new to us.
