I'm not so sure that is Persoonia linearis as I can see teeth on the leaf margins, more like Banksia spinulosa. However, I don't think I've ever seen Banksia spinulosa on Green Cape in heath, so I'm a bit stumped. The photo appears to be upside down, which doesn't help. Also good if you can take a close-up of the leaves as well as the whole of plant shot. You can put up as many as 5 photos per sighting.
Definitely geebung. The main trunk has the flaky pink bark. It’s not actually green cape as the site wouldn’t let me give exact location. It’s just off the hwy south of Edrom Road.
Nope, pretty sure it is Banksia spinulosa, with those marginal teeth on the leaves, and the signs of multiple narrow stems coming off the lignotuber. Persoonia generally doesn't develop a big woody lignotuber (crown) like this has and it is usually single stemmed. Maybe there was a Persoonia next to it? Re the location issue, if you want to try and fix it, click on "edit" then hold down the control key, drag the map around with the mouse till you get to the right general area, then stick the pin in the map by clicking on the spot. Pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
Or you can just move the pin to an approximate location now - given that Banksia spinulosa is a common and widespread species in the southern part of the region, the location doesn't have to be exact. Just where you described is close enough. But leaving it on Green Cape is misleading.
