Found growing on a rotten dead trunk. Looks like possibly arcyria obvelata based on some photos online?

Great identification. Do you have much experience with the 'slime moulds'? I've just added this species to the species list so hopefully I'll be able to give you a full id on my next attempt!

Thanks Pam for the info and the ID - I didn't previously have any experience with them, but I came across a similar-ish photo in a rainforest species book. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for more now, they look pretty amazing.
