User's notes

The River Oaks I have seen along the Bega River are the biggest I have ever experienced. Ancient and magnificent, they are a key part of the ecology of the valley and also the aesthetic attraction of the riverine environment. Not to be taken for granted!

Yup, shame about all the weeds beneath them! If you felt like getting a close-up shot of the branches of a flowering (rusty coloured) male plant, to add a flowering time record, that'd be good. With our trips to town rather truncated at the moment, we've neglected to do it.

Jackie, I did see one tree flowering during this same walk yesterday. No photo. Yes shame about the weeds which seem to be a fact of life along the river (and so many other rivers), but the Casuarinas remain noble.
