Nice example of this genus. Unfortunately there are so many species in this genus in Australia that are unnamed and often mistakenly given names belonging to overseas species. So I'll just stick to the genus. A thing to note if looking as these fungi is if they have yellow or white mycelium at their base. An essential characteristic in identification.
By the way these are mycorrhizal so will be associated with nearby plants/trees, both helping each other. They are also in the group of fungi that includes the 'bolete' type fungi even those these have gills rather than pores.
