Not sure of this ID and I really hope it's not African feather grass, but would appreciate an expert opinion.

Hi Steph, Nil panicus, it is just blady grass, flowering, which it does not do all that often, so it's an unfamiliar sight. Native, but inclined to be a bit invasive in areas where the tree canopy is removed, and once it moves in most other things get crowded out. I've managed to control it a bit on our place with occasional defoliation (mower, whipper-snipper, animals, whatever works for you), which works better than fire (which it loves, plus it burns like a bomb). Wombats dig up the roots in dry times for tucker, but that doesn't seem to set it back much.
