User's notes

After an ID on this grass found in a lowland grassy woodland conservation area, Kameruka. Hoping it’s Bamboo Speargrass and if so, given I haven’t found many, is it worthwhile trying to propagate from seed? Thanks, very much.

Hi Lisa, Correct. There's a similar thing, A. ramossisima, but it is in wetter gully areas, so given your location I'm happy it is verticillata you have. It seems to like growing under trees and if you don't have anything grazing it, I imagine it will increase of its own accord. But if you feel like propagating it, why not? An easier option might be just to collect seed and redistribute it to under other trees around the place, which saves you having to plant it out, and then watch it die if it doesn't rain!

Thanks, enormously, Jackie. Again! I’ll gladly scatter some seed, which it has quite a lot of at the moment. I am so appreciative of your help. Lisa
