12 Jun 2020

This is the first time this species appears to have been sighted in the Budawang Coast Nature Map region

User's notes

Very interesting green gills. Sadly I was a day or two too late for a good picture of the top of the cap.

You have uploaded another first recording of a species for Budawang. The image is of Hygrocybe helicoides. I'll update the species list with the name and fill in the details later. Again - well done! Significant sighting

Thanks for the ID Pam - glad to have spotted another unusual one! I had a look around within about a 10m radius of the specimen but could find another of the same species, despite the fact that there were various others species nearby.
The green gills really surprised me

There are only three records on Atlas of Living Australia that I could find. Lane Cove, Blue Mountains and Wingecarribee. So great record. Well done.
