Slimy top of the cap, growing near a creek

Again you've captured the distinguishing characteristics of this fungus. The slimy top when fresh/damp; the ring of tiny white flecks at the edge of the cap and the cap colour; that greyish-purple colour of the gills and their attachment as well as the type, size and colour of the stem (stipe). Good images.

I usually find that this species tends to come towards the end of the above ground fungal season. now if you happen to be scratching around the base of trees of see animal scratchings start and look for truffle like fungi!! Happy hunting.
