Hi Ross, This is a young male, I think. Tenerals (young) of both sexes are similarly yellow with black markings. Your photo 2 shows long undulate anal appendages (male) which will turn black as the maturing male thorax and abdomen become a pruinescent blue.

THANK YOU! I didn’t know that. It explains why I have seen male specimens not quite the same as others because they probably weren’t fully mature.
