I am suggesting this is deer droppings; they were in an isolated spot well away from sheep. My boot tip is in the photo for scale. There were odd footprints nearby but were too scuffed to see clearly though they appeared hooved.

Hi Matthew, Just dunno on this one. All the records to date have been of nicely separated sheep or goat-like scats, not all lumped together like this. Might need some more definite sign like hoof prints or ringbarked saplings to be sure of it.
