The arched and rather flattened flowering stem and round fruits make it look rather like Dianella congesta, which is a strictly coastal species on cliffs and dunes. Was this the habitat? If you can confirm this and do a whole of plant photo as well, I'd be happy to confirm it as that, but I'm not confident with just these photos to go on (and I'm not seeing the map for some odd reason).

HI Jacquie the system is increasingly glitchy. The coordinates are showing on my end - this is the one that took me three days to upload, the comments came up in an earlier listing but not the photos; here, the photos but not the comments. This is about ten paces up the path from the top of Corunna Lake, on an embankment at the edge of the lake; next to it in situ is the plant you've ID'd as that asparagus that is a weed; the best anyone would be able to get of the whole plant is the second image here as the plantings are densely clumped with other plants. The plant is behind the beach which is presently open to the sea.

The system sure is. I can't see a pin in the map for either this or the bridal creeper, but at least I can see the map itself now! From your description of the location and the similarity to photos I've taken from Bermagui and Bingie Point, I'm happy to call this D. congesta. It appears to be pretty uncommon on the south coast, but where it does occur it can form quite big clumps. At Bermi it is in the dunes between the beach and the lagoon, and at Bingie it is among the basalt boulders out on the point.

RIghteo thanks Jacquie as always appreciate your deep insights, and the description of Bermi between the beach and lagoon is almost exactly..... will keep an eye out for further info, thanks again
