User's notes

This morning there was much peeping, and then a baby bird at the mouth of the tunnel (in the wheelbarrow). Later these two popped out and a parent bird came and fed them, removed their poop and flew off. There are at least 3 chicks. Joy to the World.

oh dear. there were six altogether in that tiny nest. The release day was freezing cold and wet. the first one out died on the ground. The next 2 were strong and flew off into the shrubbery. The 4th one was tiny but determined. The other two were fledged but died at the tunnel entrance. 3 out of 6 look like they will survive. don't know how they fitted in the nest.
