That's good information @KorinneM, I'll try and get close up photos of the legs in future. I'm usually trying to get an overall photo, and a close up on the body and the tail.
@MatthewFrawley also a significant difference in the femur for the alpine vs multi-spotted for the darners. Multi-spotted just have black knees, alpine has more than that black of the femur.
