Body broad, tapered at either end, convex in cross section dorsally, flat ventrally. The dorsal and ventral surfaces of this handsome species are distinctly marked off from one another, the dorsal surface being of a uniform, very dark olive green colour, almost black, and the ventral surface a beautiful cobalt blue. The dorsal ground colour is continued ventrally so as to form a narrow margin of dark olive green around the ventral surface. The anterior tip of the flatworm is a distinct brownish-pink colour. The eyes, visible using a pocket lens, contour the anterior tip, crowd antero-laterally, and continue towards the hind end in a staggered single lateral line.
