Heleioporus australiacus (Giant Burrowing Frog)

Two sub-species of Giant Burrowing Frog (Heleioporus australiacus) are now recognised following a recent taxonomic revision by Michael Mahony et al. (2021), namely the nominate northern sub-species Heleioporus a. australiacus and the newly recognised southern sub-species H. a. flavopunctatus subsp. nov.

Both subspecies are considered to be endangered.
