Cup/disc fungus: Very small yellowish-orange disc, 2-4 mm diam., slightly concave or flat with short dark brown hairs irregularly clumped especially around the margin of the disc. Stalkless

Habitat:  Burnt ground and burnt wood.

Habit: Gregarious to densely crowded and contorted

Spore deposit: colourless, c. 18 x 7 µm, oblong-ellipsoidal

Comments: Always associated with burnt areas, often colonising large areas of ground after bushfires.
