I didn't think the underside of the arms were orange enough to be O tetricus but maybe they are more variable

It is the egg jelly of one of the Polinices sand or moon snails. At least a couple of local species lay their eggs in these kidney shaped jellies. You can see the tiny eggs as specks inside the jelly.

Thanks Steph. I admit to rarely seeing them, compared to other things, but I had just finished saying this to my husband when this one moved. Clearly I need to sharpen my eyes, LOL.
