I dont think it was hit by a car, but i agree it does not look well ... just being out at that time of day 😣 ... i was guessing mange ... its quite common apparently 😣

Yep, that is mange. It does make them get out and about in daylight for some reason. It's pretty common in the region, treatable if you contact WIRES and can be bothered organising to tip some insecticide onto the wombat, usually by arranging some sort of delivery system at their burrow mouth, or at a wombat gate in a fence.
