This is the "Clint Eastwood" of Early Permian shelly brachiopods of our region. This little guy was able to tolerate muddy conditions better than any other brachiopod so he/she is widespread; while willing to live both with other filter feeders but also on his/her own as a pioneer species. Dolphin Pt. was such a place at 270 my ago - cold water with lots and silt, mud and ice bergs on the sea surface.
"Clint' - this Brachiopod - is also seen at south Mollymook platform where no other brachiopods are preserved , also in nth Colliers rock platform where no other brachiopods are found in any notable numbers but do see there fossil wood and lots of sediment or deposit feeders (feeding traces only). Tough little fellow (he/she). Was also know to live with the other filter feeders who were more sensitive to mud and silt in the water.
