I found this moth in the high tide line on Tura Beach. It was wet and sandy and hung onto my shirt for about 30 mins until I put it onto a tree branch. I'd love to know what kind of moth it is.
Well done steff for your first sighting which is a wonderful moth! Lizzie and I think it might be a female as its antennae are thin and singular, but can't help you identify it.
I’m confident this is a Wattle Goat Moth - genus Endoxyla. However there are several species in this genus and one other - Endoxyla donovani - has been sighted in the Atlas region. So I’m leaving it to Glenn to make a definite call of the species. The larvae of these moths bore into the trunks of various species of wattles.
