Are these edible? They are coming up randomly on the council strip.

Firstly; I don't comment on edibility. Secondly; any one of this genus that has yellow on, and there is yellow showing at the base of the stem (stipe) I would stay away from as they are known to cause gastric and other problems!!

Good clear photo of the gills (lamellae) and stem (stipe) showing the ring (annulus) and cap (pileus) thus capturing good diagnostic characters. This looks like Agaricus xanthodermus or Yellow stainer which is often listed as poisonous for good reason.
