Found some of these on the 9th of April, only today discovered they are ghost fungi. So out l went in search of some more and found these in the nature reserve at Tura Beach.
Thanks Teresa 😊 l was so excited when l discovered these fungi are the Ghost fungi. I’m still learning about fungi, there are so many varieties and so many beautiful ones in our area. The ones l photographed on the 9th were no longer there, so l wasn’t sure if I’d find anymore but l did and these ones are so beautiful.
Wow, so how did you accomplish the 2nd photo? It doesn't look like it is fully dark and yet they are luminescing. Did you use flash or something? We had a night time try at this species once, but without a tripod didn't get anything usable.
Jackie the first photo l took was with the torch light to show what it looked like to the naked eye. With no light on it, it has a bluish white glow. It’s only when you set a long exposure that the bioluminescence is captured like this. I didn’t use my tripod for this shot, but positioned my camera on a towel on the ground. I did have a 2 second delay timer so l had no movement. With an aperture if 5 an iso of 1600 and a shutter of 30 seconds. You can photograph fungi without a tripod, although using one gives a better result, these photos were taken without one, you just need to make sure your camera is really stable.
