Were you able to get a clear image of the pores? The image above appears to have pores that are too fine to fit this species. Also the stem (stipe) looks more robust than I would have expected. You didn't by any chance notice if there was yellow at the base of the stipe as this would be a good indicator of that species, which by the way I thought was usually found in more tropical areas. Though this may only be because there haven't been enough eye looking for these boletoid fungi further south. You are putting up some interesting images and having a good go at identification, keep it up. Look forward to seeing your next images.
I looked at all my images but could see no yellow at the bottom of the stipe. I was able to "blow up "the pores to show a hexagonal shape. By next season I'll know how to be more thorough. L
