User's notes

Cap size range 12mm - 55mm Dry caps in leaf litter in forest- in clumps. Colour plale yellow to orange & dark brown when mature. Common.

This is a distinctive species with those colours on the cap ( pileus) but also that greenish/yellow tinge to the gills (lamellae) which in this image are still relatively immature. They will go darker as more spores mature. If you look carefully at the top of the stem (stipe) you will see a dark line where there is a small amount of the dark spores being deposited. This clumping growth habit is also characteristic of this species.
