User's notes

Large bird spotted in the top of a tall tree, from quite a distance away. Similar in shape and I think size to a Currawong. White and various shades of grey on the back, white with black striations on the belly. Tail has white tips.

Looks like this one has been languishing in the too hard basket for a while. It looks to me like a juvenile oriole, particularly in the in-flight photo. The white tips to the tail feathers fit with that. The mottled coloration and bill shape don't fit with a currawong. Hopefully now that I've made the suggestion someone else with bird expertise will take a look at it. I'm not quite confident enough to confirm it.

Thanks Jackie. Perhaps the lighting is making it difficult. I thought it quite a bit larger than an Oriole as well but I am no expert. We have certainly had a lot of Orioles around this year.
