I saw a lot of these trees but only one that had the orchid. I saw one other tree that has a different orchid in it but it's not in flower yet so I couldn't tell what it was. Have you been to the rainforest walk there - it's extremely beautiful :-)

Yep, growing on Euc paniculata (grey ironbark), judging by the relatively pale bark. That is the only ironbark I've ever seen it on. Would be interesting to find out if it grows on tricarpa or fibrosa too.

Hi Jackie thank so much as always for your amazing info! I might send you some pics of the tree - or if you get a chance go have a look it was easy to find and really beautiful, like little daisies up the tree, quite high up and going around at least half of the tree.

Yeah, I've seen something similar further south on the road in to Gillards Beach I think, in Mimosa Rocks NP - very speccy, but not very long-lasting so you really have to be there at the right time.
