User's notes

Biscogniauxia sp. This looked like an abalone growing on a decaying log of wood, so intriguingly beautiful! Stromata orbicular to broadly ellipsoidal, frequently irregular in shape, discoid to cupulate with distinctly raised margins; surface dark grey to dull black, slightly pruinose. Stromatic tissue beneath the hymenial layer 2-3 mm thick.
