Despite the photograph , this climber is growing VERTICALLY up the base of a eucalyptus in a rainforest type environment.

This is the juvenile foliage of Common Silkpod. Once it gets up into the canopy it stops doing this clinging to the bark thing and turns into an ordinary climber (and a very common one).
