User's notes

Gilled fungi, spores brown? Glossy brown/tan cap, concave up to 10cm in diameter. Annulus is not apparent. Growing on sandy soil in foreshore banksia scrubland.

This genus tends to come towards the end of the season. It is a mycorrhizal fungus, that is a fungus that is associated with plant roots in an association that benefits both organisms. They have a fine web-like cortina rather than a annulus. Though because this is so delicate it may wear away with age.
