Hednota species near grammellus (Pyralid or snout moth)

 

The genus Hednota has about 60 named species.  Some of them are similar looking moths with a series of longitudinal yellow-brown and silver-white streaks on the forewing. They are hard to tell apart even with a bunch of specimens and a microscope to look them over in detail. Seven of these species have been recorded in the ACT and there are probably others. They are placed here together under “Hednota species near grammellus”
