Ludwigia palustris (Marsh Purslane)

A semi-aquatic species, native to the northern hemisphere and Africa, naturalised in scattered locations in NSW, Victoria, SA and Queensland. Grows on mud as water levels drop, or in the water column with leaves floating on the surface. Flowers are small and inconspicuous.  Promoted as an aquarium plant and capable of behaving invasively in freshwater situations such as rivers and lagoons.
