This is one of the 'Bleeding Mycenas', however this one has snow white gills with NO fine beading along their edge.
The stem, when snapped bled as though one had just cut their finger, the latex was the same colour and texture as blood.
As such it will remain at genus level until it is formally identified.
Hi Teresa, Wow, hope you can demonstrate that on Saturday. Sounds amazing. Wish I'd thought to break the stem on the ones I found on our place recently with the red edged gills, but not knowing about bleeding Mycenas at that stage it just didn't occur to me. Jackie
